Microsoft: WordPad Removed from OS

WordPad is a free computer program used for writing and editing text on Microsoft’s windows system. It has more formatting options than a Notepad, and less options than Microsoft Word. WordPad was initially released in 1995 and has been available on every version of the OS starting from Windows 95.

According to Microsoft, WordPad is going to be removed from future updates of the operating system, with the report recommending Microsoft Word for .doc and .rtf documents, and Notepad for plain text documents like .txt.
